I fly because...

It's been a childhood dream.

It's a valuable tool for work.

It beats the lines at Hartsfield.

Atlanta ARTCC Facility Tour

Please join Superior Flight School on Saturday, June 7 for a fly out and tour of the Atlanta ARTCC in Hampton, Georgia. The Air Route Traffic Control Center provides air traffic control service to aircraft operating in controlled airspace, principally during the en route phase of the flight. You should plan to fly into Clayton County/Tara Field (4A7), arriving no later than 10:30am. Transportation to the facility is provided. Following the tour, we will be shuttled to a BBQ restaurant for lunch, then return to Tara Field. There is no charge for the tour or ground transportation, but you are responsible for your own lunch. The tour is limited to 20 people, and you must bring proof of your U.S. citizenship with you to the tour. You must call the Flight School at 770-422-7465 to sign up...first to call...first to go! Call and reserve your plane now! (Note: we currently have 20 people signed up. Call if you would like to be placed on the stand by list.)

Superior Flight School, Epps Aviation and Cessna Aircraft invite you to attend an Open House on Saturday, May 31st from 10:30am - 4pm at our McCollum Field (KRYY)location. Pre-Flight Risk Assessment Form
Effective immediately, SFS will require a preflight risk assessment form to be completed prior to every non-dual flight conducted. We believe that the risk assessment form will help formailize the IMSAFE process and quantify the various factors that can affect the safety of the flight. The assessment will need to be completed prior to aircraft dispatch. The form is available at the flight school or it can be downloaded from the web site. Any questions regarding the form itself or the change in the dispatch procedures should be directed to Bob or Joe.

G1000 Class Scheduled

Another Garmin G1000 Glass Cockpit Ground Class will be held on Saturday, May 3 at the RYY location, starting at 9:30am. You can complete the required G1000 Written Test during the class and learn what all of the knobs and buttons do. Added to he class has been the operation of the Integrated Autopilot installed in N1315C...and any future new G1000 aircraft added to the line. SFS Fulton County Open House - March 30

Come join the Superior Flight School staff at KFTY for a day of fun, food and new Cessna aircraft on Sunday, March 30 from 10am to 4pm. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be on the grill starting at 11:00 a.m.
Kristi Cherry, the Cessna Sales representative from Epps Aviation, will be on hand to answer any questions regarding the entire Cessna product line... including the newly acquired Columbia 350/400 aircraft.

If you are training or flying at another Atlanta airport, visit SFS at Fulton County Airport and see what a great alternative it is to flying at some of those busier places.

Rental and Instruction Price Adjustments - effective April 1, 2008
Over the past 12 months, we have continued to see our fuel costs rise at a faster pace than overall market and economic factors. We have dealt with this primarily by implementing and manintaining a fuel surcharge based on current fuel pricing. Our baseline fuel price for surcharge planning and pricing purposes has been $4.42/gallon. We have not seen those levels since April of 2007. In order to continue to provide high quality aircraft , we will adjust our rental prices, effective April1, 2008, to reflect a more realistic baseline fuel price . Fuel surcharges, if neccesary, will now be calculated off of this new baseline price. This will hopefully eliminate the fuel surcharge at some of our locations and reduce it at the other.

In addition, it has been increasingly difficult to attract and maintain quality instructors during the current shortage of pilots. We will be making a small adjustment to the instruction pricing in order to remain competive in the pilot market. Thanks for your support and understanding. Private Pilot Groundschool Scheduled For March

A Private Pilot Ground School has been announced, commencing on Monday, March 17 at 6:30pm. Class will meet each Monday and Wednesday for six weeks. Earn the endorsement for the Private Pilot Knowledge (Written) Test and start getting ready for the Oral portion of your Practical Test (Check Ride).
