Instrument Ground School to Begin 4/25
The next Instrument Pilot Ground School is finally here. You can complete all of the ground instruction requirements and earn the endorsement to take the Instrument Pilot Written exam upon completion of the course. Classes will begin on Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30pm and meet each Monday and Wednesday evening through Wednesday, May 30. There will not be a class on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28. Classes will end no later than 9:00pm each evening. The cost for the class is $375; please contact the flight school at 770-422-7465 to reserve your seat.

SFS Receives 2011 Industry Excellence Award
The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) recognized Superior Flight School at their 2011 Industry Excellence Awards Dinner on March 28th in Washington, DC. Superior Flight School was presented with the NATA Excellence in Pilot Training Award which recognizes Superior for its outstanding contributions in safety, professionalism and leadership in the field of pilot training.

March High Performance Special
Spring time is upon us and the flying weather is finally starting to improve.  We thought we would use the month of March as an opportunity to get prepared for some fun summer flying.  If you are looking for a great cross country aircraft, the Cessna 182 can not be beat.  Carry 4 people and bags for the weekend at 145kts.  Get to the beach or the mountains in about 2.5 hrs. 

The FAA requires a high performance endorsement to act as PIC in an aircraft with over 200hp. At 230hp, the Cessna 182 will require the endorsement.  In order to help some of our pilots transition over to the 182 from the 172, we thought we would offer a March High Performance Special.  For the month of March only, any club member who would like to earn a High Peformance endorsement can rent N6197Z for the reduced rate of $180/hr.  Sorry, this rate applies only to pilots working on the endorsement and will only last through the end of March.  So if you have the desire to fly a bigger, faster airplane now is a great time to get started.

Private Pilot Ground School Scheduled
The new year has arrived and it is time for another Private Pilot Ground School! Classes will begin on Monday, January 16 and will meet each Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. You can earn the endorsement required to take the Private Pilot Knowledge (Written) Test and begin preparation for the Oral Exam portion of your check ride. The price of the class is $395. January Special - N1297S $180/hr
SFS would like to kick off the New Year in a positive fashion and help give you a reason to brave the cold and come on out to the airport. So for the month of January we will be running a special on N1279S... SFS Club Members will be able to rent the beautiful Cessna 182 for $180/hr (plus tax and fuel surcharge). This is a great opportunity to get your high performance endorsement, get checked out in a different aircraft or just go and fly a cross country or two. So get on the schedule and reserve the aircraft, this special is for the month of January only.
